Quite possibly the worst aspect of brewing beer... preparing upwards of 50 bottles. For me, this usually means letting the bottles soak in the sink for a few hours and then spending several hours scraping and scrubbing the damn things.
It's a task that I've never really given much thought to in the past, but somewhere between scraping the 30th beer bottle and staring at the clock to realize that I just wasted over an hour scraping bottles I started thinking there has got to be a better way. I did a bit of research and created a Poll with some of the most common anwsers I came across - Would love to hear what works for everyone else.
Best Way To Remove Beer Bottles
- Just Water & Time.
- Warm Water & Oxiclean.
- Warm Water & PBW.
- Warm Water & Dishsoap
- Warm Water & Bleach
- Why aren't you kegging already?
Follow up question: For anyone that uses any chemicals to clean their bottles, have you had any issues with off tastes or residues? Anyone have any really solid chemical free methods for removing labels quickly?
